Coaching experience: Part-time chess coach since 2017, worked intermittently at Activekids HK. Taught many classes to children aged 5-12. Promoted chess at public events e.g. 2017 Hong Kong Book Fair.

From my previous coaching experience, I am constructing a framework (in progress) which aims to help complete beginners to improve gradually and ultimately reach a level of approximating 1700-1800 FIDE. With my background in psychology and cognitive neuroscience, I can help utilise the knowledge from my studies of the human mind to help students work on their thinking in chess. Instead of focusing heavily on concrete theory which can be overwhelming to newer or less experienced players, I emphasise the understanding of ideas and generalising them to a variety of situations, which is not only crucial to one's progress in chess, but also necessary for one to understand one's strengths and weaknesses which can enable them to work more efficiently on their own whenever necessary.

Note: This is my second account where I only play unorthodox chess openings.
