GM Monika Socko

Monika Socko is a Polish grandmaster, an eight-time national champion and the 2022 European Women's Champion. The highest-rated female player in Poland and the only one in history to earn the GM title (as of March 2021), she was part of her country’s gold-medal winning team at the Women’s European Team Chess Championship in 2005. Socko won bronze at the 2010 Women’s European Individual Chess Championship and has been ranked in the top-20 female players in the world on multiple occasions. At the end of August 2022, she won her first European women's title in Prague, Czech Republic.
