The main event is a 12-player single round robin contest with 20 year-old Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (pictured) top seed, followed by the 6-time winner Etienne Bacrot.

Games start at 15:00 local time, and live coverage (with a 30 minute delay) is available at the official website (in French) at this link.

The time control is 40 moves in 90 minutes, then 30 minutes to finish with a 30 second increment from the start.

A separate 6-player double round-robin women's championship is headed by Sophie Milliet in the absence of Marie Sebag and Almira Skripchenko.
