I'm a Canadian chess player currently living in Japan.  I started playing chess around 2010 at my local library after school and I kept playing online ever since. I started playing competitively in tournaments and started coaching beginners in 2023. 

I am currently accepting students. I specialize in e4 openings as white, particularly Open Sicilians and Ruy Lopez. As black, I play a lot of Caro Kan and Sicilian, and I play Slav against d4. I can help you with tactics since I am a tactical player, but also strategy that may lead to tactical positions. 

My rate is $20 USD/hr. I teach beginner to lower-intermediate players.
