My name is Muskee Books and I am an avid tournament player and coach for class level players. My highest rating attained is 2111 USCF and I've played over 1,100 OTB games. While pursuing chess I've been fortunate to study with many Grandmasters and be mentored by strong players. In working with other players I help with game review, prescribing materials for further study, and being someone who understands the highs and lows of being a class player and trying to make the climb up the ladder. Although I learned chess as a child, I didn't start playing tournaments until I was an adult and I remember that journey well as I became immersed in the chess world. Now, I'm married with a daughter and twins on the way. My own tournament play may become less frequent, but I look forward to helping to mentor others as they try to make their climb. By day, I am an Elementary School P.E. teacher and I've run the scholastic chess club at my school. My other interests include music (trumpet player), working out, and the outdoors.
