My chess journey started when I was 15 years old and I went to a school that had chess as a subject. Before that I was danish champion in bowling.
I improved rapidly as a result of being around much stronger players all the time at the school (took a whole lot of beatings too).
After 1½ years I had improved from 1030 to 1750 in rating and then life took over for a decade after which I decided to try to reach my original chess goal of 1900 FIDE which I did.
Recently I decided to take up chess more seriously for the first time in my adult life and I am a stronger player now than I ever was. I just hit 2150 national and 2100 FIDE.
I think it's important for a coach to be an active player.
I have 3 years experience teaching classes and 4 years experience teaching privately (from ages 8 to 70 and rating ranges from 500 to 2200, several of whom have won danish youth championships)
I am good at teaching rapid improvement between 1000 and 1800, but I can teach 500 to 2200.
I believe in an individual approach with a mutual dedication. You can't help people more than they want to help themselves and I am dedicated in my method.
For this same reason I prefer not to have too many students at once. I love following each and every one of my students' individual journeys.
I am fluent in english and danish.
Write me if you want to know more about my approach, pricing etc. and do write a little bit about yourself as well if you are interested.

"I'm an adult aged 56 who had been stuck at 1400 for decades. Mads helped me reach my dream goal of 1700 (I reached 1726) in just 1½ years. I still hold this rating many years after our work together" (Translated from danish) -Benny
"I knew how the pieces moved (except en pessant) but Mads helped me understand better what a position needs and he taught me some core principles so I jumped a few hundred rating points over 6 months." -Pernille
