Entrenador de Chess.com

Hello, my name is Carlos Côrte-Real, an amateur chess player who primarily plays online. Although I have participated in some FIDE tournaments, I am a four-time youth champion of the Azores Autonomous Region and a co-founder of the sports club Grupo Desportivo Diana, based in Évora. I am not a professional chess player, but I am deeply passionate about the game. My strengths lie in the aggressive style I bring to my play and my calculation ability. Recently, I reached a Blitz rating of 2300 on Chess.com, and when I have more time—since work currently occupies much of it—I aim to achieve ratings of 2500–2600 online. I love teaching chess and already do so at the club I am part of.

I offer lessons and can help players in the rating range of 1000-2000

Teaching Methodology:

To begin, I will review your recent games, including online matches, to gain insight into your current playing style. Following that, I will present you with a series of positions to solve, during which I will ask you to articulate your thought process. This approach will allow me to thoroughly assess your strengths and areas for improvement.

Once this evaluation is complete, we will address all phases of the game—Opening, Middlegame, and Endgame—with particular emphasis on overcoming your weaknesses. Additionally, I will provide you with detailed guidance on "what" to focus on and "how" to approach your training, enabling you to progress efficiently.

Rates and Contact Information:

I charge $6 per hour.
