I am a middle-aged Russian-American woman returning to chess after nearly two decades of only occasional play. I am disabled, neurodivergent, and queer, and I am a leftist political activist. I am eternally grateful for the support of my wonderful husband of 21 years. I have a PhD in Classics and I am working on a book about ancient board games.

I am happy to make friends over a chess game. I have a lot of experience with how the internet treats women with opinions, and I will block anyone who is pushy about seeking anything other than friendship and chess.
